Rural Workers Dwelling - Dartmoor National Park

Planning permission granted today for a Rural Workers’ Dwelling within the Dartmoor National Park.

Planning in National Parks is inherently sensitive, and rural worker dwellings are among the most closely scrutinised forms of residential development.

Securing consent requires a clear understanding of functional need, landscape impact and policy intent.

This proposal involved a thorough re-appraisal of a scheme previously attempted by another consultant, including siting, design and justification.

The application was supported with plans, agricultural appraisal, landscape assessment and planning statement all of which were prepared in-house and carefully aligned with Dartmoor National Park policy.

The result was a focused, evidence-led submission that progressed to approval without objection.

We regularly act on complex rural and agricultural cases where policy constraints are tight and the margin for error is narrow.
