Permission Secured for Indoor Padel Court at Milton Farm

Wreyland Rural Planning has secured permission for an indoor padel court at Milton Farm, Fairford.

The development involves extending an existing agricultural building by one bay and converting it to accommodate a standard 10 x 20 metre padel court. The building will retain its agricultural character through the use of subdued profiled cladding and materials matching the existing structure.

Milton Farm is a 450-hectare mixed farm which has been occupied by the same tenant farming family for more than 50 years. The court will provide a new source of diversified income while introducing a recreational facility within walking and cycling distance of Fairford.

The application demonstrated compliance with policies supporting rural diversification, the conversion of rural buildings and the provision of community sporting facilities. It also addressed design, access, parking, trees, noise and neighbouring amenity.

The permission will support the resilience of the established farming business while providing Fairford with an accessible new indoor sporting facility.
