More LBC successes in the Cotswolds

I’ve just secured Listed Building Consent for two Grade II cottages in the Cotswolds...

Both properties had suffered from a jumble of dilapidated 20th-century windows and doors that detracted from their historic character. Charles Board and I were able to demonstrate through detailed Planning & Heritage Statements and beautifully crafted drawings how carefully specified handmade timber replacements complete with slim-profile double glazing would not only improve energy efficiency and tenant comfort, but also enhance the architectural integrity and conservation area setting.

These approvals show the value of a rigorous, policy-led approach that balances heritage protection with practical improvement.

I have put a lot of time so far this year into developing our understanding of the heritage environment, policy and contemporary approaches to solving problems in historic buildings. This is now starting to pay off with pragmatic solutions for our clients which find favour with Conservation Officers.
